Welcome to the Atlas Nation.
The people of the Sky live high up in the atmosphere, the air considerably colder and thinner, as they live on the peaks of mountains, carving their cities and streets into the tall structures. Waterfalls and caves are like that of a commodity to these people, being found in abundance within and around most cities.
Only a few ways to reach these mountain peaks of ours; mostly consisting of mount (most common) or a hearty amount of air-bending abilities.
The architecture of the Atlas Nation is advanced in comparison to the other nations, despite being pretty equal in levels of technology and that of the like. The cities and roads are connected by floating "roads" (if you can call them that) small shops, inn's, and traveling merchants are most commonly found on these "in between" spaces of the nation.
We the people thrive in areas of trade and education; making us intelligent in both social and academic aspects. The law is relaxed and bendable in this nation, despite harsh punishments that are often dealt to wrongdoers to set example and give warnings to fellow citizens.
The hierarchy is determined by bloodline and family names. The founders of the nation hold the highest ranks, the most powerful of the bunch gripping the crown firmly in their grasp.

"FOR ATLAS, the titan condemned to hold up the sky for eternity. we name our nation after you, bearer of heaven."
❧ B E L I E F S
The Atlas Nation's people worship the god, Atlas. He is a symbol of a peacemaker between heaven and hell, holding up the sky to separate the two. There are many statues of Atlas to be seen around the nation, and many churches depict the god with stained cloth on the walls and colored windows showing stories of the Titan and his sacrifice.

The official laws are far and few between in the Atlas Nation; although if crimes are committed, the penalties tend to be cruel and harsh. (1) Any violence between citizens outside of training, self defense, or other reasonable idea to incite violence as a response will be met with a public humiliation.
(2) Thievery of any kind will not be tolerated. Whatever you steal will be repaid in full. The thief will spend x amount of time in a cell, depending on the value of the item.
(3) Treason is punishable by death.
(4) Any questionable act may be given a punishment decided by the council.

(1) Every citizen is offered a free education. It is required by law that everyone is appointed 1 mentor after completion of several years of studying their 'gifted ability.'
(2) Marriage is flexible for common folk. Anyone can marry anyone-- as long as they are two fully consenting adults. For royal blood or higher ranks, however, it is much more serious-- to divorce among these ranks is to bring shame and disgrace to your family and their name.
(3) Even though the high ranks naturally command some respect or discipline, there is no law saying any common citizen must have the utmost respect for a higher rank. (Despite possible consequences depending on the person) Most Atlas Nation folks treat each other equally when in casual conversation.
(4) A Gryphon/Mount is to be raised by it's rider and only it's rider; this provides the much-needed bond between a mount and it's rider so that you get the best possible outcome for survival when riding one of these creatures.
