[attr="class","daiya"] Emberhail civilians (sometimes referred to as The Emberhaili) have a certain look to them that have been adapted for generations... while they don't all look identical, it is easy to spot out an Emberhaili by solely appearance alone.
Attire & Clothing Due to it being unbearably hot, many Emberhaili wear clothes that are a little revealing unless marching onwards to battle. Leather and chainmail armor is used the most for combat, and typically women wear gowns and robes while men wear vests and such. Attire is heavily inspired by both ancient Roman Empire and sometimes, India. As long as you stick to medieval timeline attire, anything is acceptable!
Skin Tone Emberhaili people's tones vary from olive skinned to a darker tint. They are especially darkened from being out in the harsh desert, and adapting to the cruel environment they have adapted to for years. Some may also describe their skin as a little more rough rather than smooth. The people of Emberhail are certainly never pale.
Hair Color Ranging from dark brown to black, the Emberhaili style their hair in many different ways- the most common being braided hair in women, and trimmed or cut hair for men. Usually both sexes are seen with longer hair, although there are no obligations against having short hair. Pale hair colors are never seen in Emberhaili people that are full blooded Emberhaili.
Eye Color The eyes of a Emberhaili are truly alluring. Ranging from golden yellows to amber-browns, the most common eye color among the Emberhaili is brown, or yellow. Green eyes are rare, and blue eyes are almost unheard of. Many with blue eyes are immediately assumed to either be outsiders, or even cursed.
Height Emberhaili people are not very tall. Females usually range from 5'4 - 5'7, while men range from 5'8 - 6'1 at the maximum. It is rare to see anyone above 6'1, much less 6'2.

[attr="class","daiya"] Since the dawn of Emberhail, the first Emperor reports the rays of the sun shining intensely through the clouds... like the feathers and wings of a Phoenix...
The religious beliefs of the Emberhaili dates back to the very rise of the Empire. Emperor Rotisiuqni tells his people of a Phoenix that guided him here, a great, flamed beast that would grant his people powers if he so dared praise him- and ever since, the Emberhaili people bowed before the Sun, Moon, and the Phoenix.
Not many speak His name, although it isn't forbidden. Thriving under many titles such as "The Red Sun" and "The Great Phoenix", His true name is Sheinzibanei, "Shei" for short. He is the God of creation, life, death, rebirth, and most importantly, fire and magic. In many legends, it is foretold it was He who created the Sun, and then the Moon to be a mirror- Sheinzibanei is depicted as arrogant and vain in legends, admiring his brilliantly hued feathers every dawn and every dusk since the beginning of time.
In more recent Emberhaili beliefs, Sheinzibanei lives every dawn and dies every dusk- since this legend, marriage customs have been centered around the time of day- for no love is allowed as long as He lives- Sheinzibanei desires it all for himself.
The Red Sun (sometimes Sheinzibanei's secondary title) is a reference to the first Emperor, Rotisiuqni's vision. "I see the sands and canyons ignited with red, as if the very Sun reflected off of them... it is then I see this is the land for my people. Ember rains from the skies in this beautiful sight I see. We are Emberhail, and our love and honor will forever rain from the heavens." Rotisiuqni said. It isn't quite looked into how or why Emberhaili people can bend fire to their will, much less learn it. The history of element bending dates back so far, not many can recall it at all... so here we lay, much of Sheinzibanei being a mystery, as well as the origin and prosperity of our Empire, otherwise known as the Emberhail Nation.
Sheinzibanei is not prayed to or practiced to daily, or routinely. His people merely acknowledge him, and through acknowledgment, they are able to use His influence to wield a vile flame. Be warned, travelers... Sheinzibanei does not teach love like His children do. THE RED SUN RISES. - RELIGIOUS BELIEFS emberhail we are children of the phoenix. |

[attr="class","daiya"] There is much potential in the world of Emberhail. Our abilities, while merely based around heat and flame, each have a unique take on the world- called Tiers. Each student can only learn one Tier, and each is equipped with three abilities that are learned over time. Every Tier has it's uses, so choose wisely! Smokestave Tier A tier based around stealth, this Tier is mandatory for Assassins only, but any may learn it if they so desire. Anyone who learns this Tier should be skilled in one-handed melee combat, preferably dual wield. Smokestave Trainees will conjure heat and flames not for harm- but for stealth, cloaking, and distraction.
Tier 1 - Mask This is the first ability a Smokestave will learn. Mask is used to conjure a flame, and hurl the smoke at the enemy's face. This ability must be rolled for. If rolling a 5 or a higher, consider the ability a success! This is a very, very easy skill to master.
Tier 2 - Cloak It is recommended the user wears both a hood and a mask to avoid breathing in too much smoke as they learn this ability. Cloak is used to cover yourself in smoke and ash with a conjured flame temporarily, rendering you difficult to spot in dark areas, or causing the opponent to breathe in smoldering ash and smoke if approaching too close. If rolling a 6 or higher, the ability is successful. You will be cloaked in ash and smoke for fifteen seconds total. This is an excellent skill for escaping, or distracting an opponent.
Tier 3 - Smokestep At Tier 3, your ability is able to come to it's peak. Smokestep is difficult to perfect, thus it takes many weeks and sometimes months of training to use it properly. You must roll an 8 or higher to use this ability. With Smokestep, you are able to conjure smoke without a flame. Smoke will roll through you and the opponent like fog, and you will create many silhouettes with the smoke. After thirty seconds, the illusion disperses and collapses. This is an excellent ability to use in a point in combat when you are being overwhelmed! Be warned, however, this ability can be detrimental to health if used too often or too long. Blazingheart TierClerics use this Tier the most. Based around fire and light, Blazinghearts typically wield staffs or spears. This is often considered "The Healing Tier." Since Clerics are able to be combatant, it is recommended your character is a Cleric if using this Tier.
Tier 1 - Light Consider this first Tier to be an introduction to the type of elemental magic a Blazingheart will use. The user will practice conjuring a beam or ball of light in one of their hands. It is harmless, but can be considered distracting or blinding. Users can use this ability if rolling a 3 or higher.
Tier 2 - Bind The most basic of healing tactics in Emberhail, the user's hand will heat up. The Cleric will be used to cauterize wounds and close them. However, Bind can also have different uses. Sometimes Clerics will heat up their weapon in combat instead! Roll a 6 or higher to successfully use this ability.
Tier 3 - Heart of Fire The last and final Tier, Heart of Fire is only used by Clerics when necessary. With this ability, the user's arms will engulf in flame, almost like the feathers of a Phoenix. For a very short span of time, the user's speed is increased for five seconds. With quick, hand-to-hand combat strikes, the opponent can be left with several burns. Roll an 8 or higher to successfully use this attack. Redblade TierThis Tier strictly uses swords, whether it be one handed, two handed, or dual wield. Fighting with a cunning blade of some kind, Redblades charge into combat with melee, fiery attacks!
Tier 1 - Charge Much similar to the Bind, though only weapon restricted, a Redblade can heat up the blade of their weapon for a span of 15 seconds, and if striking an opponent successfully, will leave burns. After 15 seconds, your blade returns to normal temperature immediately. Roll a 4 or higher to use this ability.
Tier 2 - Wield Conjure a "sword" purely made of fire. As you wield it and swing it and hit the opponent, the flames strike them and disperse immediately. It is a one time usage. This ability is difficult to master, solely because the user must have precise aiming and tactical skills to successfully use this-- because just one swing will make the fiery sword vanish. Roll a 6 or a higher to use this ability.
Tier 3 - Talon of the Phoenix A true Redblade knows to only use this when the situation is dire. The blade you wield will completely engulf and burst into flames for approximately forty five seconds. Your blade becomes searing hot as you swing it at your opponent- it can be considered so hot, your opponent won't even feel the pain. After forty five seconds, your weapon immediately turns to normal temperature. This ability takes energy straight from you. Using this ability drains 3 health points from you. Flamespitter TierWeapons wielded are irrelevant here- use as you please! Flamespitters use solely flames in combat, and of course, their weapons.
Tier 1 - Spit In the palm of your hand, conjure a small flame and hurl it at the enemy. It isn't very detrimental, but can still be damaging. Spit is a very easy skill to master. Roll a 2 or higher to use this ability.
Tier 2 - Hurl Use your hands to conjure a beam of fire towards your enemy- or simply a ball of fire. Roll a 5 or higher to use this ability.
Tier 3 - Breath of the Phoenix A difficult tier to master, Breath of the Phoenix takes immense focus and prowess to sustain itself fully. With both hands, conjure a green flame and bolt it towards your enemy. Roll an 8 or higher to use this ability. Sunpalm TierThe final Tier, Sunpalms specialize in hand-to-hand combat, and rarely use weapons. When they do, it's strictly staffs- and only one ability is useful with a staff... Many Sunpalms don't wear gloves or shoes due to their odd abilities.
Tier 1 - Center With deep focus, ground yourself and heat up your hands and feet to be scorching towards your enemy. Now, be quick! The scalding heat will only last for a minute or less. Roll a 4 or higher to use this ability.
Tier 2 - Smolder A step up from Center, Smolder will instead engulf your hands and feet in fire- and also your staff, for merely thirty seconds. With quick attacks, you can leave several burns on your opponent.
Tier 3 - Conquer Conquer is a very peculiar attack, and if done incorrectly, can harm the user. Conquer will bend the heat around you to be considerably warmer, and with the knowledge of Smolder, your entire body will engulf in fire. You can hurl the fire at your opponent, strike them with fire, all with sick burns. Roll an 8 or higher to use this ability. If rolling an 11 or higher, Conquer will increase your speed for three seconds. The entire ability lasts a total of one minute. Conquer takes off 3 health points after usage. This ability is a primary reason many Sunpalm students are completely bald. Oops. THE RED SUN RISES. - ABILITIES emberhail we are children of the phoenix. |
